Minoxidil Increases growth factor VEGF, scalp blood circulation and opens pottasium-ion channels

Minoxidil increases blood circulation in the scalp and most importantly it significantly increases the growth factor VEGF. VEGF is the growth factor that supports the growth and development of blood vessels. When VEGF decreases in the scalp, blood vessels disconnect from the hair follicles and the hair follicles transition to the shedding phase of the growth cycle. By increasing VEGF, we can prevent the hair from shedding. As a result, the hair stays in the growth cycle for longer, enabling it to grow longer, thicker and stronger.

Each hair follicle is capable of producing between one and four hairs. By increasing VEGF, the follicles grow stronger and can produce more hairs per follicle. As a result, using Minoxidil can increase hair density by up to four times by maintaining high scalp VEGF levels.

Minoxidil is also a ‘potassium-ion channel opener’. When hair follicles become weak, the potassium ion channels begin to close. By opening the potassium-ion channels we can revive the hair follicles. This is vital for healthy hair growth.

Breakthrough 1: Valproic acid Activates the Wnt-signalling pathway, enabling hair follicle neogenesis

Valproic acid (VPA) is perhaps the most important ingredient for the creation of brand new hair follicles via the process of wound-induced hair follicle neogenesis.

VPA induced ALP in human dermal papilla cells by up-regulating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, whereas minoxidil (MNX), a drug commonly used to treat alopecia, did not significantly affect the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. VPA analogs and other GSK3β inhibitors that activate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway such as 4-phenyl butyric acid, LiCl, and BeCl2 also exhibited hair growth-promoting activities in vivo. Importantly, VPA, but not MNX, successfully stimulate hair growth in the wounds

Breakthrough 2: Sandalore Increases growth factor IGF-1, reduces TGFs and lengthens hair growth (anagen) phase

Sandalore news headlines

Sandalore has hit major news headlines in the United Kingdom and has been hailed as the miracle cure for hair loss. And yet very few people know about it.

Sandalore is a remarkable ingredient, due to the significant effect on hair growth in tests. The chemical interacts with an olfactory receptor in the scalp causing an increase in IGF-1 and lengthening of the hair (anagen) growth phase, meaning hair grows for a longer period of time, reducing hair loss.

Results proved promising, concluding that Sandalore targeted the expressed olfactory receptor, OR2AT4. This leads to a reduction in keratinocyte apoptosis and a 25% increase in IGF-1, so prolonging the anagen phase. There was also a corresponding 25% decrease in TGF-2, another protein regulator of the hair growth cycle, but one which progresses hair loss.

Adenosine Increases the growth factors VEGF and FGF7

The chemical adenosine has been shown to lengthen the growth phase of the hair follicles. It may do this by improving blood circulation in the scalp, enabling a greater supply of nutrients to flow to the hair.

A study by Oura et al. (2008) on Japanese women showed the compound can be a viable treatment for female pattern baldness. This double-blind, randomized and placebo-controlled study was performed on 30 Japanese women with female pattern hair loss. The researchers created two groups, some of the volunteers used a solution that contained 0.74% adenosine while others used a placebo solution. The treatment lasted 12 months and the results were evaluated with the help of phototrichograms and dermatologists.

The group that used adenosine had significantly better results than the placebo group. It seems that the solution containing 0.74% adenosine increased the anagen hair growth and increased hair shaft diameter. Another important aspect was the fact that there were no side effects noticed during the treatment, despite its longevity. Although the study’s volunteers were women, this doesn’t limit the effects of adenosine to women only.

Castor oil Increases PGE2 and works as a natural carrier oil

Castor oil contains a high concentration of ricinoleic acid. This is the key to its effectiveness. Ricinoleic acid increases PGE2 in the scalp. PGE2 is a fatty acid, which seems to be vital for hair growth. Castor oil is also useful for naturally thickening the serum, which makes application using the Hair Follicle Neogenesis Method very easy to do from home without any need for assistance or medical equipment.

Cysteine Shown in multiple independent studies to significantly increase hair growth

In a paper regarding evidence-based guidelines in the treatment of alopecia for both women and men (Blumeyer et al.), various amino acids are mentioned with a special mention for cysteine. Cysteine is considered to be one of the main factors involved in hair growth.

The paper cites a study (Morganti et al.) where there was a significant mean change of total hair count in both male and female patients after a treatment containing cysteine.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate Upregulates proliferation of follicular keratinocytes

Topical carnitine has been shown to significantly increase hair count by upregulating the proliferation of follicular keratinocytes. And it even works for male pattern hair loss.

Caffeine Shown in studies to reduce DHT and increase hair growth

The proposed mechanism which would counteract DHT-induced miniaturization of the hair follicle include inhibition of phosphodiesterase by caffeine, which increases cAMP levels in cells and therefore promotes proliferation by stimulating cell metabolism.[5] A study conducted by Fischer et al. used hair organ culture model to investigate the effects of testosterone and caffeine on hair follicle growth stimulation. This in vitro study used scalp biopsy samples from male AGA patients which were cultivated using different concentrations of testosterone and/or caffeine for a period of 120-192 hours. Addition of caffeine in concentrations of 0.001% and 0.005% were found to counteract the suppressive effects of testosterone on hair growth, with a higher hair shaft elongation seen at 120 h after caffeine administration

Peppermint oil Reduces inflammation and increases IGF-1

Peppermint oil is a natural plant extract, which has been shown in studies to have powerful anti-hair-loss properties. As I said in my article about peppermint oil, I am truly amazed at the results of one study that tested peppermint oil on hair loss patients:

(PEO: peppermint oil. SA: saline solution. JO: Jojoba oil. MXD: Minoxidil.)

From week 2, PEO grew hair more rapidly than SA and JO. At week 3, PEO remarkably promoted hair growth than SA and JO, even greater than MXD. At week 4, PEO showed hair growth about 92%, whereas MXD about 55%

Velvet deer antler increases growth factor IGF-1 enabling hair follicle neogenesis

In a study of wound-induced hair follicle neogenesis, velvet deer antler was applied to wounds and hair counts were taken on days 16, 32 and 40. The researchers revealed that “longer and more active new hair appeared around the healing wound of antler-treated skin”.

Cetirizine Effectively reduces PGD2, preventing hair follicle death

Cetirizine is an anti-histamine. This is a key ingredient in the mixture because it reduces PGD2 when applied to the scalp. In one experiment, 1% cetirizine was applied to the scalps of subjects and ‘significant hair growth’ was reported. Almost all hair loss is related to elevated PGD2 (which is related to auto-immune reactions in the skin). It’s critical to reduce PGD2 in order to prevent hair loss.

Taurine Reduces TGFs, reduces fibrosis and stimulates hair growth

Another study conducted in 2008 (Collin et al.) analysed taurine in relation to transforming growth factors that cause hair follicles to stop growing. Taurine is involved in many physiological functions among which the immunomodulatory and antifibrotic functions. The researchers used taurine on in-vitro hair follicles. The observations concluded that taurine protects the hair follicle from the effects of TGFs1, promoting hair survival.

Rosemary oil Demonstrated to have significant hair regrowth effect on alopecia areata patients

It has been suggested that rosemary oil increases hair growth by improving blood circulation in the scalp. One study tested the application of rosemary oil against 2% Minoxidil solution and after 6 months both groups in the test showed significant improvement in hair growth and similar levels.

Tretinoin and propylene glycol/ethanol/water (PGEW) solution Increases absorption of Minoxidil

Minoxidil has to be absorbed by the scalp in order to be effective. Minoxidil itself cannot penetrate the scalp. That is why a delivery vehicle such as propylene glycol (PG) is used. This mixture of PG, ethanol and water is essential for the delivery of the Minoxidil into the skin. Research has shown this combination significantly increases the effect of Minoxidil.

The addition of tretinoin (retinoic acid) can further help minoxidil penetrate the skin and reach hair follicles and thus enhance the effectiveness of minoxidil.

According to a study by Shin et al, when 5% minoxidil is mixed with 0.01% retinoic acid (tretinoin), it can be used once a day and achieve equivalent results as 5% minoxidil twice daily usage.

Does it work for women?

Yes. The Growth Factors serum works for both men and women because it works by increasing the growth factors that make hair grow and decreasing the inflammatory cytokines that stop hair growth. By focusing on these two key actions, the Growth Factors serum significantly stimulates hair growth in both male and female scalps.

Does it work for alopecia areata?

Yes. It is extremely rare for a hair loss treatment to work on alopecia areata. However, the Growth Factors serum works because it reduces inflammatory cytokines. Inflammatory cytokines are increased when an immune response occurs in the scalp in alopecia areata patients. The Growth Factors serum is a major breakthrough for alopecia because of the ability to target the inflammatory cytokines that cause hair loss.

Does it work for male pattern hair loss?

Yes. Male pattern hair loss is caused by the hormone DHT. But have you ever wondered exactly how DHT causes hair loss? DHT causes an increase in inflammatory cytokines, which causes increased hair loss as well as causing fibrosis of the hair follicles. Once fibrosis has occurred the hair follicles become destroyed and can never regrow. The Growth Factors serum reduces scalp fibrosis and inflammatory cytokines but most importantly it can be used to generate entirely new hair follicles when used in conjunction with the Hair Follicle Neogenesis Method.

How long does it take to start working?

Some customers have reported seeing new hairs develop within as little as two weeks. However, we strongly recommend using the serum for three months before expecting to see significant hair regrowth. It’s also strongly recommended that you use the Hair Follicle Neogenesis Method instructions, which you will get for free when you buy the serum. The instructions show you how frequently you should use the serum and how to use it in conjunction with the Dermaroller to achieve significant hair regrowth.
